U9 Update – Sept 26^th, 2024

1.     There will be a U9 balancing jersey pickup/swap in the CHBA Hockey office from 10am-12pm on Saturday September 28^th.  If you have not picked up your balancing jersey, please come within this timeframe.  Jersey pickup is mandatory if your player wants to participate in balancing.

2.     An additional preseason ice session was added to each preseason group of U9 this Sunday.  The additional times are as follows:

Sunday Sept 29^th (Scotia 1) - 8am-9am – Group 2

Sunday Sept 29^th (Scotia 1) - 9am-10am – Group 1

Sunday Sept 29^th (Scotia 1) - 10am-11am – Group 3

3.     Competitive Tryouts for U11-U18 are beginning this weekend.  Spectators are only permitted to enter the rink for U9 ice times.  Spectators are NOT permitted to enter rinks where competitive tryouts are being held (for example, if U9 is in Scotia 2, Spectators will be restricted to Scotia 2 only and can not enter Scotia 1 to view tryouts. 

4.     Groupings for the first two balancing sessions starting Oct 5^th and 6^th will be posted Friday Sept 27^th before midnight.  Please check this link - U9 Balancing | Cole Harbour Bel Ayr Minor Hockey Association (chbawings.org).  Thank you for your patience.

U7 updates:

We are entering our final week or U7 orientation.  It’s been great getting this group back on ice this fall!  Thanks to our amazing coaches for running these sessions:

*** U7 LOCATION CHANGE – Orientation session #4 - SUNDAY - SEPTEMBER 29^th moved to Shearwater Arena.

-        Due to competitive tryouts starting the weekend of Sept 28^th/Sept 29^th, we need to move U7 to another facility for their final orientation session.

-        Times will remain the same, but the sessions will now be held at Shearwater Arena - Shearwater Arena - Google Maps.

-        The website has been updated to reflect this change - U7 Orientation | Cole Harbour Bel Ayr Minor Hockey Association (chbawings.org).

U7 season startup

-        Following the final orientation session on Sunday Sept 29^th, Head coaches and teams will be announced on/before October 2^nd, 2024.

-        Head Coaches will select their assistant coaches and team manager for the season.

-        Your players first team practice will be on Saturday October 5^th, followed shortly after by a jersey handout event (U7 draft) where each player will pickup their jersey, meet your coaches and teammates for the season.  This is an incredibly memorable event for your young hockey players so please do your best to attend!  More details to come!

U7 Friend Requests

If there are any last-minute requests for close friends to be on the same U7 team, please submit the request in this U7 Friend Request Form prior to Sept 30th at 12pm.

-        I will need a request/email from both parties (a parent of each child)

-        There is a maximum one request per player

-        Players can not be two years apart (e.g., 2018 and a 2020 born player)
